2026 Copperclub Club Championships

Terms of the Competition

Referred to as “The Competition”

To be read in conjunction with the Rules of Golf and any Local Rules or Temporary Local Rules current during The Competition.

1. General

The Match Committee reserves the right to alter or make any variations to the Terms or Format of The Competition should it deem necessary.

The Match Committee also reserves the right to refuse the entry of any person without being required to provide a reason for such refusal.

2. Practice

Rules 5.2 and 5.5 apply.

Competitors may use the practice facilities provided by the Club.

3. Eligibility

The Competition is open to:

  • 2026/27 financial 7 Day, Weekday and Junior members of the Copperclub
    (Weekday members wishing to qualify on a weekend will be subject to a $30 green fee)
  • Non-professional staff of Copperclub

4. Entry

Registration into The Competition is free and will occur by nomination at the commencement of the qualifying stage.

Players will be graded according to their GA Handicap as at the start of the qualifying rounds on Saturday, 13 June 2026, as follows:

Men

  • A Grade: +5 to 9.9
  • B Grade: 10.0 to 17.9
  • C Grade: 18.0 to 54
  • Seniors: 70+

Women

  • Two Divisions — Notified post qualifying rounds

5. Format

The Competition will be:

  • A Gross Stroke event for the Club Championships
  • A Handicap Matchplay for Division 2 Women

Championship Tee Allocations

  • Men’s A Grade: Black Tees
  • Men’s B & C Grades: Gold Tees
  • Seniors: Silver Tees
  • Division 1 Women: Silver Tees

Handicap Matchplay Tee Allocations

  • Division 2 Women: Jade Tees

6. Qualifying Rounds

Qualifying rounds will be played in conjunction with the normal competitions held during June and July 2026, commencing Saturday, 13 June 2026 and concluding on Wednesday, 1 July 2026.

Qualifying Dates

  • Saturday, 13 June
  • Sunday, 14 June
  • Tuesday, 16 June
  • Wednesday, 17 June
  • Saturday, 27 June
  • Sunday, 28 June
  • Tuesday, 30 June
  • Wednesday, 1 July
  • The best two (2) qualifying rounds will count toward qualification.
  • The top eight (8) players from each grade will progress to the Championship Matchplay Finals.

7. Matchplay Finals

The quarter finals, semi-finals and finals will be played during July 2026.

Finals Schedule

  • Quarter Finals — Sunday, 5 July 2026
  • Semi Finals — Sunday, 12 July 2026
  • Grand Finals — Sunday, 19 July 2026

Championship Finals

  • Men’s A Grade: 36 Holes
  • Men’s B Grade: 36 Holes
  • Men’s C Grade: 27 Holes
  • Seniors: 27 Holes
  • Women’s Championship: 36 Holes

Handicap Matchplay Finals

  • Division 2 Women: 27 Holes

8. Times of Starting and Groups

Competitors must be ready to play at their designated tee time as set by the Match Committee.

The Match Committee reserves the right to alter tee times and playing groups.

9. Pace of Play

Competitors are responsible for maintaining an acceptable pace of play in accordance with Rule 5.6b.

10. Decisions of Ties

All qualifying positions will be decided by the countback method, unless otherwise determined by the Match Committee.

All matchplay contests will continue until a result is achieved.

11. Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to both the Winner and Runner-Up in all Club Championship divisions and the Handicap Matchplay division.

12. Motorised Golf Carts

Competitors may use motorised golf carts during The Competition in accordance with the Rules of Golf.

13. Results

All Matchplay results must be forwarded to the Match Committee as soon as possible following completion of the match.

14. Claims and Disputes

Any Rules query, claim or dispute not resolved before play or during play on the course must be referred to the appointed referee for The Competition.

This may be done:

  • In person
  • Via Golf Shop staff
  • Through a Match Committee member on the day of play

The referee’s decision shall be final.

15. Representation

The winners of the Club Championships are encouraged to make themselves available to represent Copperclub at local and state events where Club Champions are eligible to compete.

16. Compliance

Failure to comply with these Terms of the Competition may result in the player or players being disqualified from The Competition.
